Large vintage Impressionist seascape oil painting on canvas signed Blazer or Blazen. Though I could find no information in our art reference books, it is obvious this painting was painted by a talented artist. It's unusual subject matter, stormy open seas without ships or shoreline in view, is moving and bold and is framed in a unique frame. On the reverse of the painting and the stretcher is written the name: "Belma Buckingham". Two small patches show on the reverse of the painting and were placed there during professional cleaning and minor repair to the canvas. The painting is in excellent condition now with some areas of wear on the frame as shown in the images. Image size 39 5/8" by 23 5/8".
